Our Staff
Craig has helped students in North Dakota, Silicon Valley, and Colorado during his career, and has served students in classroom and one-on-one settings. His strong rapport with students and deep experience with standardized testing as well as an array of STEM topics have led to stints as a director and Chemistry department head. Craig brings to Moser a love of the sciences and a long list of successes with students of many academic backgrounds. From his start working with students at North Dakota State University, Craig’s career path led him to positions with some of the nation’s top academic support institutions before he joined Moser. His easygoing demeanor and supportive approach have made him a hit with his students.
An avid sports fan, Craig never misses a Bison or Vikings game. He enjoys the outdoors and spends time camping, hiking, and traveling whenever he can.
Deborah graduated from Northeastern University with degrees in both Education and Geology; she is the only student to ever graduate with that combination of degrees. Her career shifted from middle school science teacher to supplemental education in 1998 and she’s never looked back. Her experience ranges from elementary school phonics to high school maths and sciences; she has 15 years experience with ACT/SAT alone. Her greatest professional joys lie in helping students improve their test scores so they can get into the college of their choice and seeing them understand a topic/concept for the first time.
In her spare time, Deborah loves hanging out with her husband, 3 kids, and 2 dogs. She runs anywhere from 5k’s to 1/2 marathons and is a movie buff.
Isabella graduated from Colorado School of Mines with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked in the construction engineering industry before rediscovering her true passion for teaching. She followed that passion through positions with students K-12 both inside and outside of the classroom, including stints supporting students at Denver Public Schools, Denver School of Science and Technology, and Colorado School of Mines. While her favorite subject to share with students is Calculus, and she loves all things math-related, she is truly a gifted all-around academic resource.
In her spare time, Isabella can usually be found playing with her puppy, Canela. She also enjoys practicing yoga, hiking, and playing a variety of sports.
Jennifer received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology/Education and History from Mount Holyoke College, followed by a Master’s in Education from Arcadia University. She has spent almost 10 years working in education as a teacher and tutor for students of all ages. Her teaching experience ranges from Kindergarten Reading to College study skills, and almost everything in between. Jennifer loves sharing her passion for learning and encourages all of her students to become lifelong learners. Jennifer leads the Moser executive function skills team, working with students from grade 5 through college on study skills, organization, time management, and more.
An avid reader, Jennifer always has a book nearby. In her free time, she also enjoys watching sports, hiking, and anything Marvel related.
Larisa has been teaching Colorado youth since childhood, and joins her students in the excitement of learning something new. A graduate of Colorado State University, Larisa is familiar with practical study routines needed to keep a happy life and a dean’s list transcript in today’s time. A lifelong passion in health and wellness led her to study biology and chemistry, and with aspirations to be a doctor, Larisa appreciates the teacher role in the medical profession and expands on it through tutoring math and science. Larisa’s youthful demeanor and dedication to building connections allow for quality, fulfilling relationships to form that result in constructive and motivated learning. Larisa had the opportunity to mentor students during her last year of college, and found great joy in giving students the ability to turn their grades around for the better.
John developed a life-long interest in education while teaching or assisting with numerous engineering courses in graduate school. After receiving degrees in Physics and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iowa, he went on to teach science for 13 years to elementary and middle school students, developing his own curriculum along the way. As part of his effort to make science education more personal and active-minded, he has spent a great deal of effort designing projects and materials for students to work with, such as constellation charts, hemispherical paper sundials, and paper astrolabes for the study of astronomy. More recently, he has been researching the history of inferential statistics with the goal of clarifying an arcane but increasingly emphasized subject in mathematics.
John loves reading 200-year-old math and science books, and although he is quite out of practice he is looking forward to resuming his old pastime of ballroom dancing.
Laura earned Bachelor’s degrees in both Business and Mathematics before moving on to Master’s degrees in Education, Business, and Mathematics. She has over 15 years of tutoring experience with students from age 5 to 55 and taught Math and Business full time at the high school level for several years as well. Laura loves math, where she has excelled since childhood. Her biggest professional passion is sharing that love with students and empowering them to be successful in an area that may have been intimidating in the past. She is creative in her analogies when explaining concepts and works hard to find common ground with every student to build a strong base of conceptual knowledge.
Aside from math, Laura loves to travel, sing karaoke, dance, and explore new things, academic and otherwise. She has enjoyed coaching cheerleading at middle- and high-school levels.
Maki is our Vice President of Development. He built and maintains the one-of-a-kind training and continuing education programs that make Moser instructors leaders in their field. In keeping with the values of the organization, he constantly innovates, re-imagines, and presses our potential forward.
Maki holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Literature from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a Juris Doctorate from the Sturm School of Law at the University of Denver. Maki grew up in Chicago, moving to Colorado in 2002. In his free time, Maki can be found rock climbing and skiing in distant corners of the world, from Canada to Chile and Argentina to Australia.
Matt graduated magna cum laude from Illinois Wesleyan University with bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Psychology. He takes great satisfaction using his knowledge to motivate and help students find and fulfill their goals. Matt spent several years in Chicago helping students master the ACT/SAT tests and cultivate growth. After moving to Colorado, he became a licensed high school mathematics teacher as a result of teaching in two schools dedicated to social justice.
Outside of teaching, Matt loves spending time with his wife, cat and two dogs. He also loves trail running, being in nature with friends and family, attending concerts and DJing.
Scott is the founder and President of Moser. His role has evolved from rowing the boat to steering the ship, and he now maintains a hands-on approach to developing new ways to make our students successful. From our textbook, Reason. Solve. Create. to our executive function coaching program, Scott oversees the development of new programs and resources.
Scott studied Geography and French at the University of Delaware and a received a Master’s degree in Global Finance and Trade from the University of Denver. A Vermont native, Scott has been in Colorado since 2002. When he isn’t meeting with students, Scott can be found climbing in Yosemite, sailing in Belize, or playing outside with his wife, Sue, and their dogs, Clea and Timber. Winston has been working with students of all ages for nearly a decade, ranging from Kindergarteners to adult learners. He started developing his love for learning early on and demonstrated that in math competitions throughout his academic career. His specialty is math education of all levels, but he enjoys all subjects. Winston studied Mathematics and Information Technology at Colorado State, where he received his bachelor’s degree. His philosophy of teaching is focused on the idea that every student can grow in any area with motivation and guidance.
When Winston is not working, he is usually found on the golf course. He has been playing since he was 4 years old and played on his high school team.
