SAT Question and Answer Service (QAS) Explained
By Maki Gorchynsky | February 13, 2019
The SAT Question and Answer Service (QAS) is an option offered to students taking the SAT in March, May, and October. The QAS includes a copy of the SAT questions from the specific test date and a report showing a student’s answers. Correct answers and additional scoring information are provided, as well as information about the type and difficulty of the test questions. The QAS costs an additional $18.
QAS is a great way for students to revisit the actual SAT exam they took and gain insight from reviewing the questions they answered incorrectly, and those they answered correctly but remember having struggled with. Students can pinpoint these specific questions that gave them trouble and use them to plan future preparation.
Students can order QAS during test registration or until five months after a test date. For students who decide to order QAS after having registered for a test date or having already taken the test itself, the easiest way to do so is to sign into their College Board accounts and select “Order Now” within the “My Score Reports” tab.
For the test dates on which QAS is not available (June, August, November, and December), students can order the Student Answer Service (SAS). The SAS includes a report showing how students answered questions from the test, along with information about the type and difficulty of the questions. Actual test questions and answers are not included, however. The SAT costs an additional $13.50. While there is some value to the SAS, it’s not nearly as helpful as the QAS.
In short, the QAS is a worthwhile service for students to take advantage of.
